I asked srg on Patreon about the potential for a beta core release and he said it's not ready yet, and indicated his goal was to get it from dual SDRAM to single SDRAM before any public releases. Makes sense to me.

Let us pray to the FPGA gods that he can make it happen!

This looks like it could go into a beta phase anytime now... It's pretty amazing stuff between this and the PSX core, we are so spoiled and lucky!

Yeah it's looking about equal to how well the PSX core runs right now. From looking at the Patreon comments it seems like Sergey hasn't started on implementing save games yet, and I assume it's still running as dual SDRAM.

In the comments on the Youtube video he says that it only runs about 20 games right now. It still has quite a ways to go.

Just to clarify. I'm only testing US region games for now. My US folder contains 135 games, about 25 of them are fully playable with minor graphical or sound issues. I'm not testing JP/EU region games yet because it takes more time.

Thanks for the update! There are a good number of people with dual RAM set ups now from testing the PS1 core, so if you ever need people to help test your core then please let us know.

It's not like there is anyway to port the Dreamcast on the Mister though  ... Not in full FPGA way anyway.
Doubt anyone in this community doesn't own a Dreamcast.
i dont own one. i would like to have CPS3 on the Mister. That and all MKs. That would round up my wishlist.

Question: would it be possible to use the Saturn core as a start for STV arcade cores, or even implement the Sega STV core into the Saturn?

Some of y'all are really forward-looking. Me, I'm just sitting here with my fingers crossed and held breath, hoping this world's-first-holy-grail core will get over the finish line 8-)

More details from srg320's latest patreon post:

Please be sure to support his work on Patreon if you can!

Progress update.

VDP1:

-add support 8bit framebuffer mode (hi-res) (Virtua Fighter, VR Soccer etc.)

-add support framebuffer access by CPU (Blast Chamber, Bottom of the 9th etc.)

VDP2:

-fix zooming in hi-res mode (Virtua Fighter).

SCU: fix A-BUS DMA access speed. Now about 20 more games are playable.

SDRAM1: got both memory chips to work interleaved (128MB sdram module) and created a separate memory channel on the second chip for SCSP RAM. This is the first step to the possibility of running the core on a single sdram module.

I don't have a twitter account, but I am very worried about Sergey. This insane situation...
I would pray if I were a believer, I hope he has gotten out of the country by now.
@srg320: You can come to Spain and live in my home if you need to! Peaceful country life, etc.
