Irem M62 Sound

I noticed, that the sound in the Irem M62 driver is complete, while it is still incomplete in Mame. By looking up why it is still broken in Mame, I stumbled over a video from David Haywood from 2015, where he shows a WIP discrete implementation of the sound. In the description he explains that this integration requires a lot of processing power.

My question is, does anyone know if the sound in the M62 core is an analog simulation or some kind of workaround? It sounds fine, so I wouldn't mind if it is a workaround, I am just curious.

EDIT: I watched the video again, it seems the analogue components of the sound are also missing from the M62 core.
