Choplifter Not Starting?

I'm trying to get Choplifter to work. Since it's not included in update_all I had to download Blackwine's MRA file. I get it to boot without any ROMs missing and the menu for the game works, but the screen only shows a static pixel pattern. Has anyone here got it to work?

The MRA is not enough, you also need the core from blackwine available here : https://www.patreon.com/blackwine
Choplifter requires sega system 2 extensions which are currently not implemented in the system 1 core downloaded through update-all
