TP-Link TL-WN725N WIFI dongle not detected by the Linux kernel [Solved]

Unread post by vanfanel »

Hi there,

I have just got a TP-Link TL-WN725N WIFI dongle for the MiSTer, but strangely it doesn't get detected by the Linux kernel.
I know I have to build/get a firmware+kernel module for it. Both things are available here thanks to iodev:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=408

So, I have both in place, but the problem is, as I said, that the kernel is not reporting it via lsusb. No matter what, I can connect the thing to a desktop/laptop PC running Debian and it's perfectly reported as:

Code: Select all

Bus 001 Device 010: ID 0bda:8179 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188EUS 802.11n Wireless Network Adapter
..however, on the MiSTer, there's no difference on lsusb if I plug it in or not.
So, anything that has to be done on the MiSTer so this works?

Thanks!

This was due to a faulty USB board. Now fixed.
