Cant do nothing with vertical crop

Cant do nothing with vertical crop

Hi guys, I can´t figure out this vertical crop thing...
For testing I put in mister.ini the following
[ZX Spectrum]
vscale_mode=0
video_mode=4

[C64]
vscale_mode=1
video_mode=4
But nothing happens in C64 core and ZX Spectrum core. I have an SyncMaster 710N (1280x1024 LCD monitor) connected using those china cheapo hdmi to vga adapters, what am I doing wrong?
Are this new vertical crop feature made for those than can afford to buy expensive fullhd monitors?
Where I can find a manual or documentation with those new features? I dont even know if I must use [Zx Spectrum] or [ZXSpectrum] tried both but nothing.

Yes, the (integer) cropping only makes sense on 1080p displays if you do the math. Sorry!
