Amigavision

Post by roman126 »

Does the Amigavision ‘Amiga’ folder have to reside on the SD Card? I have tried to set it up with the Amiga Folders on external USB due to the large Amigavision HDF file, but this fails to be seen when running the core. I have tried numerous attempts to transfer the file over to SD card using FileZilla or WinSCP, only partially transfers , then fails. Any easier ways to get a sizeable file onto the SD card from a PC? Tried an Ethernet cable between the two but my limited pc knowledge prevents me from setting up this transfer option.

Using an SD card reader on your PC is the most reliable way to transfer files.

FileZilla is overall terrible with bad defaults (at least it was last time I tried), and it sounds like you might have an unstable network too if WinSCP doesn’t work.

I tried this a few times, weirdly when I try to copy the large Amiga HDF file into the Amiga folder on my SD card via a USB, it starts the process then disconnects from my pc! No issues with smaller file sizes

Are you sure your card is formatted as exFAT, not FAT32?

Yes pretty sure, but I’ll double check, sure that exfat is the default given the SD size, but I’ll check 👍

Sounds like a faulty SD card, try a different card.

Formatted exfat, reinstalled miSTer, removed micro sd, into pc via usb card reader, transferred all Amigavision files, came to the large HDF to transfer into the Amiga folder, got to 12% and then the usb disconnected from pc. Tried all over again with a different micro USB, exactly the same.

Card reader issue?

Sounds like card or card reader issue, yes. Since you are having issues on the network too, my bet would be on the card being defective.

If it is the same on 2 different cards, I suspect the card reader.

Tried using a different card reader on a different laptop = result, so yes, looks like you were right dodgy card reader :D

Ah, missed the fact that you tried two different cards earlier. Glad to hear you figured it out.
