------------------
Notes: On a few cores " = L Shift+2, * = ], and ? = not working. CAPITALIZED = type command or action. On most cores, leave the .xxx files name extension off the launch command.

Help: I could use help with the MulitComp, and Sinclair QL.

------------------
Amstrad: files DSK, TAPE "
DSK file-
1) load DSK through OSD
2) type CAT
3) type RUN"GAMENAME

TAPE file-

3) press any key to start the tape loading

------------------
Amstrad PCW: files DSK
DSK file-
1) load DSK through OSD
2) reset core

Notes: Some games require a boot disk, and then you load the next DSK when prompted to. Some games require a password. Set core to PAL, and for best compatibility set clockspeed to 4.00(1x) when loading.

VHD
- Launch games on drive D: and E: root, and under D:\KLAZ directory. Double click to navigate directories as needed. Atari ST executables have .PRG and .TOS extensions, those are what you want to run.
- For STE games change chipset to STE.

Just wanted to throw a quick thank you for this, as it is exactly what I need with a couple of cores I keep forgetting the keyboard shortcuts for. Cheers.

A nice addition to this would be keyboard guides, to easily translate modern USB keyboards into the machine layout.
For example, the " key varies so I find myself hunting for it often...

The problem is that USB keyboards layouts themselves vary as much, if not more, so that is next to impossible untill there is a global keyboard format (I won't probably spoil much by saying neural interfaces will happen way before that is even likely!).

A little addon: regarding the CPC, some floppy games will report an error when using the CAT command. This means they are CPM formatted. You launch them by typing:

Code: Select all

|cpm

The | (vertical bar symbol) is obtained by holding the shift key and pressing the “[” one (left bracket) on an US keyboard, assuming the CPC keyboard layout is English as well.
On some CPC models, the character may be rendered as ¦ (broken bar symbol) instead of |.

Are there keyboard maps for these computers? The github page has a very handy one for the c64 core:

These guides would be great pinned as a seperate thread per core!

Also the keymaps would be good to be included as it took me a while to find " * etc keys on the c64 core

Great stuff, glad I've stumbled upon this thread because I was just about to waste some time on putting together exactly the same thing. No Amiga though?

And my pipe dream is being able to display this (and other info) as .txt files from OSD :)

Most people use the Mega AGS Amiga image, which is all menu driven. I should take a look at it again now that the core has a shared folder, and write up how to access and launch those files.
