Hey. The last couple of months, I've been recording old games on my MiSTer and putting them on YouTube. My plan is to post a couple of new MiSTer videos every week. They all go into this playlist:

MiSTer Game Videos on YouTube
Re: MiSTer game videos on YouTube
Cool! What's your capture setup? I've been interested in doing this myself but have no clue where to begin. I just have a laptop and plug my MiSTer in either to my (LCD) TV or computer monitor.
Re: MiSTer game videos on YouTube
I run the MiSTer HDMI output through an Elgato 4K60 S+ (a standalone device that records to an SD card), recording in 1080p 60FPS. I've tried recording stuff in 50FPS, but it caused issues, so I mostly stick to 60FPS for now. The recording is cropped and upscaled x 2 using ffmpeg. The upscaling is to get a resolution than 1080p, which in turn makes YouTube encode it in nice quality.
Re: MiSTer game videos on YouTube
Thank you! I'm always recording games from whatever weird retro rabbithole I'm into right now, so the selection is a bit random.

Yikes, cool product but quite a bit out of my budget. Good to know a standalone product like this exists though.syltefar wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 10:24 pmI run the MiSTer HDMI output through an Elgato 4K60 S+ (a standalone device that records to an SD card), recording in 1080p 60FPS.
