Very strange that you’re getting a sound issue on the Konami logo. It’s completely fine on my end:

Could it be that an issue with your sound system having a delay when waking up from complete silence? That’s very typical of sound bars and whatnot.

no sound system in between though. It was either direct HDMI into a capture card or speakers hooked up to the I/O board directly. Still not sure what causes it but it's a super minor issue that affects nothing so I honestly won't continue to hunt it down

Depends. If the arcade owner allows endless continues it can happen that one person decides to finish the game on day one by dropping enough coins into the machine and a lot of people watch this run and loose every interest in the game afterwards.

Just a suggestion. Every time you add a new guide via a new post, it might be a good practice to also add each new video to the main post at the top, so all guides are in the same location?

MiSTer FPGA vs RetroArch software cores; a comparison

It's a question I get a lot on YT comments so I figured why not stack them up against one another

MiSTer gets the edge but the real winner is the gaming community for having so many awesome options!

Good video.
Looks like you attracted quite a few comments, including mine :D
The only comment that annoyed me was the snake oil comment. To say Mister is snake oil, is saying you don't understand what Mister is. Silly.

"Light blue touch-paper and stand well back." LOL

A good video. Would we even have hardware sim/emulation if we hadn't had the software emulation forefathers blazing a trail into the unknown?

The SoR dithering is a weird thing to call out, that is surely a scaling issue, not one of emulation. And you can definitely get Retroarch on par with sharp bilinear shader and/or integer scaling options.

PC Engine is also in another world in terms of color inaccuracy, because most emulation has been approximating what comes out of the RGB out on real hardware. However this is lacking some additional color correction that is applied to the composite signals only. The Mister lets you apply that same correction via "original" palette to its high quality video output options. Emulators should be able to copy this stuff in principle but not sure who has gotten around to it.

In what way is this clickbait? The title is dryly descriptive, not sensational.
