CRT display for JAMMA conversion

I'm converting a Sega Dinosaur King cabinet to JAMMA, and want to use my MiSTer as one option.

I'm using the JAMMA adapter (https://www.antoniovillena.es/store/pro ... a-adapter/), and the 6.1 IO board.

Problem is I'm struggling to get a signal out of the VGA connector on the IO board that works on the CRT in the cabinet. I can get a perfect picture if I connect my PC Engine direct to it, just using the RGB and Sync lines, so screen is definitely good.

I've attached an example of the best I've managed so far. This is screen calibration off Bombjack arcade, so should be a white grid. I've tried the sync on green switch and that doesn't help.

I've played around with generating settings on mister.ini generators with no luck. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

My Aero City and Astro City only worked with C-Sync activated. I am using a different kind of Jamma-"converter", though.

Did you try to activate csync in mister.ini?

This.

I assume if the PCE works ok then it's a 15khz CRT. I'd also make sure vga_scaler=0 and vsync_adjust=2.

Thank you both for the info. Still no luck unfortunately - I'm now trying to connect direct to the RGB/Sync coming out of the VGA on the MiSTer IO board rather than going through the JAMMA thing. Fingers crossed.

Post your Mister.ini settings, maybe we can work something out?

Hi! Thanks for the offer of help. I've attached my current .ini file. I've messed around changing forced_scandoubler, vga_scalar, composite_sync, and various other options, without any success.

I've tested the MiSTer IO board and that outputs to standand VGA monitor just fine with the appropriate settings in mister.ini, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the board. Also now have the screen working fine with the RGB-Pi, so all also seems to be well there.

Any tips would be very gratefully received!

I managed to fix this in the end (or at least get to the next step). I emailed Antonio and he said that I needed to configure the jumper near the VGA port on the IO board to the 5V setting (the other setting is 3.3V). Apparently this is because on older versions of the JAMMA converter part of the circuit is powered from the VGA port.
