Issues with Samsung p2730 CRT

Unread post by xlom »

I'm trying to use my mister on my set up that has a pvm 20m2mdu and a samsung p2730 on it. The 20m2mdu seems to work fine but the samsung won't lock onto a sync.

This is what it's doing https://twitter.com/LegendOfGerry/statu ... 7563301896

I've also tried plugging the mister directly into the samsung, but I get the same result. I'm using a mister and vga to component cable I purchased from misteraddons.

As far as my ini file, I've tried both of these with no luck on getting that consumer crt to lock the picture.

I'm not sure what else I could try.

There isn't all that much the ini can do to analog output, and you seem to have made the right settings (ypbpr=1, csync=0, forced_scandoubler=0, SoG switch on/ovr). Assuming you've tried different cores (with different refreshes) and they all act like this. Also assuming that scandoublefx is set to "none" in the menu of each core, any other setting will push a 31 khz (linedoubled) signal that consumer TVs generally can't handle.

A last resort would be to set vga_scaler=1 and use a custom mode line for 240p. That would let you experiment trying to find a resolution/refresh the set can tolerate if that is somehow an issue.
