Can I use 1536x2048 Resolution Display in MiSTer?

Unread post by lui sito »

I have a screen with that resolution and it is impossible to use it correctly with the mister

being designed for vertical tablets

Is it possible to somehow rotate the screen so I can convert it from 1536x2048 to 2048x1536?

any ini option that can rotate the screen?

osd_rotate=1 or 2 lets you rotate the menu, however it is up to each core whether they support rotation of the game itself, and generally that is only Tate arcade cores.

I want to rotate the screen resolution not the menu

example, windows has an option to change rotate the image

something like that

this is original resolution :

and this is rotated by windows:

Yep and I'm telling you, in most cores this isn't supported. Mostly just vertical arcade cores.

There is supposedly one piece of rotation code being used in these vertical arcade cores, and I think it leans mostly on the scaler now instead of FPGA, so if you can get your hands dirty on code, you might be able to port it to the cores you use.
