Vga to component Issue.

Unread post by Lemmiwinks84 »

Hi All,

I'm having strange issues with a green tint to light colours via the IO Board to a Panasonic CRT.

Im using the VGA out on the IO board to component cable to my component switcher.

Sync on green is 'ON' via the switch on the IO board also.

I have two pics here that show the difference.

One is with the miSTer and the other via Super Famicom with rgb cable.

Have you tried the sync on green switch in the other position? I'm not sure if component uses SoG as a part of the spec or not, but since component doesn't have its own sync line, that sounds right that it is ON.

When working with direct video through HDMI into an HDMI->VGA converter, I ran into green issues, but in my case, I think the issues were all related to the DAC inside of the adapter.

Component does require the SOG switch to be toggled.

Yeah if I toggle the switch I just get the wavy non synced image.
I have attached 2 more photos from the 240p test suite .

One is from the miSTer snes core and the other from an actual snes
Maybe the cable is faulty ?

Lol in the same position, after a month waiting for my cable, I'm now trying to sort this out on my Philips CRT, did you find a solution ?

I new that you needed make ajustments with resistors on a scart lead when utilising direct video, but i thought using the IO board a regular vga to component should suffice?

I've also tested it out using the component inputs on two lcds and the same issue comes up.

Then i tested it via vga to vga and some colours looked fine and the white levels went all wierd.

I've sent the board back to be looked at anyway.

If your using the IO board i would just try vga to vga first and make sure that is working.

if your getting issues there i would say it's the board that has a fault.
