Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Yes, you have to search for the LP097QX1 reference.
Maybe if you buy the controller board and the screen separately you can get a better price.

Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
I have a board that looks basically identical to that one. It works great but it _needs_ a heatsink of some kind. That main chip gets very hot.
Other sellers of that board include a heatsink. For whatever reason mine did not. I happened to have a spare parts heatsink so I lucked out.

Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Does anybody have a board that lets you use widescreen aspect ratios? The LCD board I have has the option but its greyed out (like a lot of other options), it would be nice to use this screen with other devices.

This looks awesome. Do you have an ETA on when you think you'll be done?Sigismond0 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 10:02 pm Sneak peek at a 3d model I'm currently working on. I'd say it's about 90% done, currently just stuck with a few tweaks and reprints until I'm happy. As of right now, everything but the front bezel piece fits pretty well. Will be available with a 100mm VESA style mount with captive M3 nuts, or with a desktop stand. Uses M2 self-tapping screws for assembly (12x 4mm, 25x 8mm most likely).
Great job

well i have this now and on 5V via micro usb supply its working OK. Some weird flickering at times ?? and the sound drops in and out.Poeskas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 2:03 amWondering the same!muthuxmut wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:01 pm Just a quick sanity check - is this combo the "right" one for low latency retina goodnees ?

Thanks:)
I havent given it a full shake down yet, but right now i think its going to work out.
I'll get a 12V psu and sort out the .ini settings in MiSTer and hopefully its a winner

No, that one looks like it has an extra small board, and thicker connectors.allegrosurf wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 7:01 am Hi @Sigimond0,

Hi sorry to resurrect an old thread, but can someone confirm it is indeed centre-positive?
Thanks!
Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Has anyone tried powering the DE-10 via the USB port on the board? It claims it supplies 2.5A so could potentially given a suitable 12V supply powering the board.
Also, the board has 'speaker out' connections, anyone managed to hook those up for sound to small speakers?

sound 'works' briefly and then turns into a crackly mess
I think the bandwidth is at a critical limit just doing the crazy resolution, so once it hits a point where the bandwidth is overwhelmed it needs a power cycle to recover

Hi,
Aliexpress try to send me a board 2 times less expensive.

Is anyone try this one to see if it is too lag free ?

Can anybody confirm that this iPad screen and driver combination can sync to PAL cores like Minimig or C64 with vsync=2 ?

Mine came yesterday and I've got the same problem. The two leds just flash. Did you determine this was definetly a faulty board?steveskr wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 10:32 pm I bought a 12V 3A adapter from Amazon with a 3.5mm connector and an adapter to convert that to the 1.35mm connector on the HDMI converter board. I updated my mister.ini with settings for the iPad 3 display (1536p) and attempted to boot. No video on the iPad display and the two LEDs near the power connector on the converter board are flashing.
Here's a photo of my setup.. Any ideas? Dead converter board?

*edit* Figured out the problem. My board just doesn't want to run off 5v usb even to test but it works perfect with 12

the one i bought (linked above) is OK at 5v via usb, but i had to use a 2.5A psu from a pi3 to get it to work, anything less wont fire up.socksfelloff wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 10:34 am *edit* Figured out the problem. Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Thanks for the reply. I used a 5v 3a psu that I also use for my pi3 and it would power the board if the screen was disconnected. If I connected the screen I'd get the blinking lights.muthuxmut wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:01 amthe one i bought (linked above) is OK at 5v via usb, but i had to use a 2.5A psu from a pi3 to get it to work, anything less wont fire up.socksfelloff wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 10:34 am *edit* Figured out the problem. I have a feeling alot of these Psu's are incorrectly labeled

Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Despite having a giant bin of old adapters I didn't have a 1.35mm for it! I was hoping to just test that it worked off usb (after all why even include it?) While I waited for my adapter to come.
Gotta say I'm super happy with it now! All I had to do was select the resolution and everything just worked, no more manually editing the ini!
Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Hi, so is video_mode=13 the current recommended setting for native resolution on this panel? Or use one of the custom video_mode settings I've seen on this board and other places. Sorgelig posted this one at the top of the Custom Video Modes Test Thread:
video_mode=2048,48,32,80,1536,2,4,38,209250
but that was over a year ago.
I've also seen other places (retrorgb.com/smokemonster) suggest this:
video_mode=2048,26,32,48,1536,3,6,12,200000
Also you can calculate a reduced blanking v2 modeline using cvt12 on linux...for example:
./cvt12 2048 1536 60 -b
# 2048x1536 @ 60.000 Hz Reduced Blank (CVT) field rate 60.000 Hz; hsync: 94.800 kHz; pclk: 201.73 MHz
Modeline "2048x1536_60.00_rb2" 201.73 2048 2056 2088 2128 1536 1566 1574 1580 +hsync -vsync
which translates to:
video_mode=2048,8,32,40,1536,30,8,6,201730
Does anyone know what video_mode=13 is based on?
My feeling is that we should be using video_mode=13 now and all the custom modes were from before video_mode=13 was officially added to the ini file as a preset resolution.
But if anyone can confirm this that would be nice. Thanks.

Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Finally set up my screen, cheers Greg!
Love this thing, you can get away with using non-integer scaling and you wont end up with noticeable shimmer, due to the high PPI of the screen for its size. So I tend to leave everything on 4:3 to fill the screen and use the "no interpolation" filter, apart from handhelds.
Low lag sync mode works for most cores except some arcade stuff and GBA, where it will just drop sync. For now I just use Alt1 config to switch to the 60Hz mode for those cores when needed. Sadly I can't get it to sync to the OSSC at all.
Speakers are louder than I expected for their size - little 1W 8ohm ones I used, soldered to the pins on the board rather than sourcing a molex connector.

Re: Ipad 3/4 Display with HDMI converter board
Sorry to tack onto this thread, but I am wanting to order a 12v 3a power for this screen, and I have seen two different plug sizes mentioned. One is 3.5mm, and another is 1.35mm. Which one is it, and is it positive or negative tip?
