So I installed the Pezz82 HDF and it works great except one thing, the menu boots into PAL mode and I can't read it on my CRT.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhUsCgTI0o0&t=369s is the video I was following along with.
Is there any way I can force it to NTSC? It looks like a really nice setup that would save me a lot of time.

So I was able to figure out how to quit the AGS launcher into workbench and set the screen mode to NTSC, and now workbench works. however as soon as I launch AGS it goes back to headache inducing PAL screen rolling

Did you change the "TV Standard : NTSC" in the OSD?

For whdload games you can force video standard per game. Click once on the game icon, using right-mouse button select "Information" under "Tool types" add NTSC (and remove PAL if exists)

For Amiga stuff you really should consider getting a display that supports PAL. Most games (and Demos) are PAL and many will have some sort of issues running in the wrong video standard... cut-off screen, incorrect game tempo, crashing, etc...

Yes I did change to NTSC in the menu. I've been looking for a deal on an amiga monitor, does the 1084 support 50 and 60hz modes?

I had a US 1084s and on the actual Amiga and it supported (PAL) 50hz on the RGB, however the vertical height needed to be tweaked in order to fit, but then NTSC would be then shorter too.

I recall there being some versions of the 1084 that would automatically compensate for that.

I don't know if the composite input would support PAL for other devices.
