Please be sure it will fit both RPI A and B models. While it's likely most mt32-pi users have the A model, I had a spare B model I didn't used, so perhaps others are in the same situation, it would be nice if the case could fit both.
The idea is to make it as universal as possible so we know people use different boards.

Milspex wrote: Thu May 27, 2021 11:52 am I think it's gonna be a little bit expensive but then again I do believe there surely is a big market for a more premium mister case.
We will see what happens. If there is no market for it then me and Mikael will at least have a conversation piece if people come over  .

Interesting, what would the advantages be in using one rather than the other?
I mean, I know the strengths and weaknesses of both types of display it's more that I'm not really sure if there's a benefit of one over the other in this particular situation.
For me, either is fine. ;)
I mostly thought about it not emitting light like a OLED display does, some people like it more "toned down". The mt32-pi cassette will have a OLED because it needs to display the animated bars properly.

At first I was thinking about using an e-ink for my project
C717F50E-BAE8-4919-8E52-B4EF9F896945.jpeg
But no animation possible.
The 3-Color e-ink (with yellow) needs about 25secs for the picture to be shown completely.
That was too long for me.
Red‘s are a bit faster but I like the yellow color.

Btw, the Picture was written to the Display about three months before :)

Yeah the lack of animation is a problem for sure, if it had that I would consider it for everything.
Being able to hold the image on the display is a great feature of e-ink.

Nice. E-ink is one of those areas I am "watching this space". Right now e-ink kind of reminds me of the first laptop with a color LCD I tried out in the 90s, though (a blurry mess ).

Sorry for the late reply folks, project is still alive.
We are ordering some parts and fixing a couple of issues (pcb design) so the time frame is a little off compared to what we first wanted. Update regarding OLED and fixes should come later this month so we will update you accordingly.

Again, sorry for the lack of updates.

Hello everyone, new to the MiSTer scene (DE10 arrived yesterday) and just registered to post what an awesome case/pcb design this is!
I was wondering what, apart from the aesthetics and the display, the main difference is between this design and RMCretro's MiSTer Multisystem. This seem to cover the same ground, no?

There are actually months in between some of the replies so I think it is time to knock off the "Irony" posts when people are just trying to see if the poject is still moving forward.

Bits n Stuff wrote: Wed May 12, 2021 1:20 am I think with projects like MiSTer it's worth remembering that the vast majority of work done for the project is sone in people's own time rather than being their day to day job. It may be a little more complex with hardware projects too as there's always going to be a lead time when having anything produced and everything seems to run a little slower these days.
Also, people may just want to take a little time off from working on something.
It's a very different thing if you've bought a product from somebody but that's not what this is, it's a project that seems to have progressed steadily over the past few months and I think we get updates and photos pretty steadily.
I'm sure it will have been worth the wait when people eventually get their hands on this. ;)
This is true but there is nothing wrong with asking of the status of the project as well.

This has to be one of the best case designs for the Mister. I would happily wait to purchase this case and I'm sure there are a lot of others who will do the same. It's always exciting to see new updates on this thread but we know how life goes sometimes, especially on hobbies like this. Also hope everyone is doing well and let's keep this place a positive one!
