This is my MiSTer.

Another win for Lee Smith's excellent wedge case design, I think you'll agree!

Thanks Lee - Top notch stuff! And of course, thanks to Sorg and all the MiSTer devs :)

The mister is removable, but stays there most of the time. The arcade docking station
is a mix of 3d printed parts and plywood. The insertable mister case is fully 3d printed!
Looks great! At first I thought you had modified one of those Kodak photo printing kiosks.
Hehe... no was not my intention, guess form follows function. My inspiration was more the Vectrex and early 80s machines with integrated displays:
Like the Pet or the first macs, but mostly the Vectrex!
I had the idea basically how about an arcade set where you can plug the MiSTer in and pull it out if you want it portable. The outer case just hosts the speakers (which are standard logitech but really get a nice sound thanks to the wood case, almost like tube amplified) and a run of the mill cheap lcd display unit which I bought from amazon!
In the docking part the cables are bare and wait for the mister being plugged in. I have yet to print a protective case (no need given the mister is in there 90% of the time anyway). Theoretically you can plug in anything which can expose, Lan, USB HDMI and 5v barrel Power connections. (5v not mandatory because the power feed is in the back anyway)

Hello all! I'd like to introduce my take on a MiSTer desktop - the MiSTer Plex

WiiOJr6.jpg

The case comes from an old Dell OptiPlex 9010. My goal was to put something together that didn't involve anything permanent, like soldering directly onto any of the PCBs.

E5KVTvu.jpg

This case size/design is exactly what I was looking for. The way everything is mounted it can sit comfortably on its side as well in "desktop" mode. I'm happy to have a case that is beefy enough to rest the LCD on. I also don't have very good metal cutting tools, so I butchered the front and back pretty well attempting to cut out openings, hence the external mounted port plates (aside from the SD card reader, which is just resting inside the low-rise card slots). Instead of showing a boring C64 screen, how about some DoDonPachi:

7CghAH0.jpeg

And then the guts. I'll be going back in later to redo the LEDs, and I'm probably going to shorten those USB cables. I saved the PSU, I hope at some point to have the skill to use that instead of the 5v adapter. I hope to possibly add an MT32-pi and/or the tty2oled to that vast blank space beneath the buttons on the front.

I'm still waiting for the laser-cut parts to come back, but I thought I thought you all might like to see a render of my take on an acrylic case.

Not the first Super Famicom build, but maybe one of the cleanest. Had to make lots of custom 3D printed parts for this one. Case was dremeled out years ago for use as an ITX PC case, so I actually had to recreate the power and reset switches for use with the MiSTer.

Power and reset buttons work. Eject button is a spring-loaded dummy.

Here’s my main MiSTer. Posted it a long time ago on the Atari forum. I love it, but it’s not the easiest to move around or take places.

So... I decided today to build a tiny “Sandwich” version using the same anodized aluminum. It’s going to be just barely bigger than the DE10, and PC Engine themed as that’s what this one will primarily be used for.

Here’s the top plate. The metal work will be done next week:

Took forever to print this sucker out (lots of false starts on the 3d printer) but I love how it turned out. Went with this color to evoke the classic computers of my youth, mainly the C64

I wondered the same thing about the keyboard, its a lovely setup. And i was about to ask too, but then realised, i need a case without a keyboard attached. A totally different setup.

I want my mister to go in a case so it sits under my TV and doesn't need touching except to turn it on and off or the occasional reset. Then i want a wifi keyboard and mouse so i can sit back on the sofa and play. These would be for the Amiga emulation etc. and MiSTer usage. A combo set would be nice, so only one dongle needed but not essential, a full size keyboard preferred without masses of useless multimedia keys. Wifi preferred for response time. I don't need backlit RGB fanciness, but i would like it to be Lithium and rechargeable so it can be permanently ready to go.

And can i find one for less than £140? Nope.

It's practically silent. I prefer my electronics to stay cool, nothing wrong with more airflow. We'll see how this setup handles Sega Saturn Core when it drops.

This might help for why cooling is never a bad idea. https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_Mi ... #3-cooling

Cooling isn't a bad idea but a single fan over a heatsink on the DE10-nano would be sufficient probably, maybe one fan for exhaust from the case as well. To each their own, you aint' hurtin' nobody and you like it, so who cares! :P

My little one is passively cooled, but it’s only really running PC Engine, SNES, and Genesis games. The big one has one fan, and big convection slots in the back. If I start using it for later consoles and arcade cores, then I might add more cooling as well. Or... build a third MiSTer. I just enjoy building stuff like this. :D

I’m also thinking about building one into the joystick setup I just built for arcade use. Oops, I posted the half pic. It’s actually a dual setup. I took a pic of half because I’m thinking of building a single laptop version as well.

Yes,it is a custom build, based on the official IO6.1,it is designed to achieve the smallest MisTer,and more easier to use。
