That's fantastic news! Wow. I didn't expect to see this today. I look forward to see how this progresses. I enjoy a little bit of Gunpey. :)

Gunpey on the WonderSwan is one of my absolute favorite games (the original B/W version, not the sequel EX). Extremely simple puzzle action on the surface but quite deep if one wants to get a grade better than D and a Boooh! Then there is the charming presentation and story which is told without words through animation. No translation needed. I would love to be able to play it on the MiSTer.

This is truly great news!

There's even a Makai-Mura (Ghouls'N Ghost) entry for this console, is it any good? Never had the chance to try it!

Great news. This was the remaining handheld core that I was most looking forward to. Well, aside from Game & Watch, but that's kind of its own thing.

You didn't want a NEO-GEO pocket core?

I am very curious about how they resolved the refresh rate issue.

I will offer original framerate(75.x Hz) and buffered 60Hz output.

Be aware that you might need to reduce the output resolution to 1080p or below with 75Hz.

For CRT I cannot say how well this will work, but the resolution of 224x144 is not great for CRT in any case.

Definitely not great for 15khz NTSC displays. A line tripled mode for PC CRTs would be alright.

Yes, with a VGA crt, this could work with the VGA scaler:

Code: Select all

video_mode=672,24,64,88,432,1,3,16,28750
No need for the core to do anything special in that case.

Ideally you would want to avoid the scaler and the lag it adds.

What's the refresh rate of the GB, GBC and GBA?

Those have about 60Hz refresh rate, but can reset the position mid screen, so they also have a multibuffer(GB) or singlebuffer+pause core(GBA) mode.

It looks like you cannot wait.
You can always call it WonderSwan, put your roms in it and when the time comes the worst which can happen is that you have to rename it.

In case you are struggling to find games to play in English, there are a few translation patches on romhacking.net: https://www.romhacking.net/?page=transl ... ssearch=Go
