Nemesis '90 Kai - missing MT32 audio

Unread post by retro »

I am missing music when I select MT32 audio for Nemesis '90 Kai, despite owning an MT32pi.

I confirm it's not a problem with the MT32pi because it works perfectly with the AO486 core. And within X68000 it works with Akumajou Dracula.

Issue is isolated only to this game. :(

Does anyone else experience the same thing?

I am running the HDF image downloaded from https://archive.org/download/mister_x68k

If I recall correctly, to set MT-32/SC-55, it's within the in-game menu options. Select Sound, then select the output method.

I can confirm that it don't work properly as I've been playing Nemesis '90 Kai almost everyday and managing to complete it (finally) without the full on sexy midi sounds on my MT32. 😤

If you have a working solution please let me know but as far as I'm aware, it's cause the X68000 core is not quite 100% there yet and needs improving...

In the options it's under Module, close enough, I found it because of the above :-)

I just tried it with my SC88 module (in SC55 mode) connected over USB-MIDI and neither the MT32 nor the SC55 mode worked in Nemesis 90.

Is it possible to play Final Fight by using this method without system hang?

The game hangs on character selection here too.
