HDMI output requires that VGA is plugged in?

Hi,
I have this issue with my IO board (v5.5-XL) that in order to get a picture from HDMI, i have to also plug in the VGA output to a screen. Otherwise I get no HDMI signal.

When removing the IO board, HDMI works normally, but I need the IO board for the analog audio and push buttons.

Any idea what could be the issue?

1. Run the downloader/update script and do a full power cycle.

2. It's possible if you haven't ran the downloader or update script in a very long time that your linux kernel is very outdated and it might not update now. If you have a spare Micro SD card could you run balena etcher and get the Mr. fusion image on a separate micro sd and try that out? --> https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_M ... /software/

Did you ever resolve your problem? I have a similar (perhaps identical problem). I can ONLY get HDMI output when I plug in a CRT monitor to the I/O board simultaneously. If I remove the CRT monitor, the HDMI disappears immediately. Plug it back in and voila, HDMI is back. More disturbing, I removed the I/O board, and still no HDMI. I tried a fresh SDCARD, same deal.

I'm not an avid user, I pretty much play with it a little, update via scripts, and come back later. I hadn't noticed a problem because I just left the CRT connected. Tried different HDMI devices (TV, computer monitor). I'm concerned that something was flashed on the DE10 board and I'm stuck in this mode.
