Next Core and Recreated Keyboard

Unread post by ghorricks »

The Recreated ZX Spectrum Keyboard works with the Spectrum core - but I am not sure it has been implemented in the Next Core.
Can anyone confirm progress on this one?

Does it make sense in the first place?

I didn't even try because I didn't think it did.

Today I use a Logitech K400+, but the ZX Spectrum Next Motherboard and hence computer is designed to be 100% compatible with with the Original Rubber Keyed (and 48 Plus) Layout.
As an original owner of many Sinclairs, and KS2 backer waiting for my Next. I can certainly tell you this would be a quality of life improvement if you can support this device.

Always better to show an image or proof I believe, so the N-Go is a version of the Next, and look here what Keyboard and case they are selling it with as it works well and was designed to fit :

I guess that for the Next it only makes sense in 48K Spectrum mode, just like in the 128K and later models. I may look into it in future. I thought it wasn't very useful because you can type the commands letter by letter, so any keyboard would do, but after all it's also 48K-compatible so...
