MiniMig update (250203)!

Unread post by seastalker »

Just spreading the word that there is an updated core for MiST and SIDI/SIDI128 here:
https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.p ... start=1475

The most recent posts from Atari-forum members wanted the MiSTer core people to know because such update is said to fix a problem that also exists in the MiSTer core. Perhaps this change will be applied to the MiSTer version?

Also noteworthy is mention of a 'FleaOhm Minimig' Core but I haven't looked into what that is yet.

Yup, it already has been - tdelage created a pull request which has been accepted, so the tentative bugfix will be in the next release of the core.

(I say tentative because I'm not certain the fixed behaviour's 100% correct, but it's closer than it used to be, and does at least fix that effect in that particular demo.)

Thank you for this info! I will happily serve as an ambassador of MiST kingdom and share this info with the good people of the land.

...except it wasn't, because somehow the PR wasn't properly accepted into the git repo. It is now (and a new build is out). Sorry about that - I assumed but didn't actually test.

OK that's great. Meanwhile Toni Wilen has given me some really useful information about how the fetch is supposed to work, so there will be further changes to come at some point. (The behaviour's close enough for that demo to work properly - and there are probably roughly 0 games and demos where it will make a difference - but if we can get another step closer to full correctness...)

The PR was accepted by the git repo but i was contacted by Sorgelig shortly after stating that RBF must never be published through a PR and then the binary was withdrawn. The current binary available through update_all is the one from 19th of january 2025 which doesn't include the fix for the roots 2 demo. So i guess there will be an automatic compilation, launched at some point that will make it available again.

I guess it happened twice then, because when I posted the update, the binary from update_all was indeed dated 20250205.
