PWM on 18-bit DAC to get 24-bit Color
Re: PWM on 18-bit DAC to get 24-bit Color
Thanks so much again! Any chance of downloading older saturn builds of this? I just ran the update to get the newest Saturn (added the ini line to make this automatic for pwm cores) but noticed that now they seem to have removed forced_scandoubler from the saturn core. I think I might want to revert to an older build just so I can have that feature again.

Here is the last build I did with a "Scandoubler Fx" option, I think scandoubling doesn't work with interlaced video. Don't know why it was removed if it still has a use for some people. Maybe FPGA resource optimization.

Saturn core is 99 % full. better to drop things like scandoubler than have bugs
Re: PWM on 18-bit DAC to get 24-bit Color
Indeed it does not work with interlaced modes. Saturn and PSX have a lot of titles that switch between interlaced and non-interlaced. So one should always use the scaler instead to make sure that all content is visible.

Event the Saturn core is close to the finishing line now.
Maybe better TATE support will come at some point but everything seems really close now.
People are still waiting for potential Sound chip support for Batman, but that is Titan Video only which hasn't video support that could benefit from PWM.
