@kathleen that looks very good.
I hope one of the MiSTer retailers offers them pre-built. I have one built by Antonio for my Ironclad MiSTer. I would like to get one for my other MiSTer that uses the USB user port.

Same, I've also been waiting for a pre-built version. Getting the needed components is always a bit of a hassle.

We could offer some units at our online store (8bits4ever.net), if thats ok with the creators of course.

I've talked to venice about it and we are both ok with that. :D

Please note that there will be version 1.1 which offers switching between 3.3V and 5V input level from SNAC/User Port without the need to change components:

PCB and case are finished. But the design is currently untested. If you want to offer this version at your online shop, I could provide you the production files for testing.

I've tested it with a real floppy and it works like a charm, next step will be to test with the SD2IEC device and also by using 2 devices to see if this works or not. But I'm already happy to see my real floppy drive connected to the Mister and got it working like on real hardware.

Thank you, Kathleen. The IEC is working great. I recorded a video using the IEC adapter with the C64 and the WIP C128 core.

Unfortunately No. This adapter, while it may look like a USB device is NOT a USB device but instead makes certain connections that are only available to Mister.

could I write a floppy image to real disk using core? I thought is hooking up drive to SNAC adapter and using disk copy program on core... basically would like to try some things on real hardware as well.

Here are a few videos of me using my MiSTer IEC adapter to copy a disk image to an actual disk and another video printing to my MPS803 printer.

Copy files from a disk image to an actual disk using Jiffydos and SNAC2IEC.

Copy disk image to real disk using Maverick on MiSTer via SNAC2IEC

Nice design, I´m going to build one.
Question: What is the 5V barrel jack supposed to be used for ?

You don’t really need to add one.
But I am powering my attached sd2iec or pi1541 from this power connector.
I this case i need to power the MiSTer with more than 5v to get around 5v at this jack.

Might be a dumb question but where can I source U1 and U2? The 4-channel level shifters I found (e.g. Adafruit) had different pinouts than in the schematic. Thanks!

For information, here is where we bought U1 for the SMD version. (You'll see it above in this thread) and it works like a charm

Thanks, I am looking to build the through-hole version though as my SMD-fu is weak!

Does anyone happen to know if v6.0 of the Mister I/O board is compatible with this SNAC2IEC adapter? I made the adapter but it is not recognizing the drive (1541-II) when connected. It's possible I did something wrong but I checked voltages and connections and they all appear correct.

Happy new year. Yes the adapter is compatible with IO Board Version 6.0. Did you build the through hole or the SMD Version?

Maybe there is a soldering problem. Could you post some pictures?

My soldering was not very good on the USB pins but I verified there were no bridges with my multimeter.

And Happy New Year as well to you. Thanks for your help!

Happy New Year!

Silly Question, do you enable "External IEC" in the C64 Core Hardware Menu?

Yes, that was enabled. I followed retrobits video and bought the parts from him since he mentioned in the video he had bought enough for multiple adapters.

I just tried it again with my pi1541 and that was also not recognized.
