SD2IECish?

Just wondering, would anything like the SD2IEC be feasible for the C64 and it's brethren?
I use SID wizard a lot and running the .prg straight out of a directory is a lot more practical for storage purposes than trying to fit everything on a disk file. Especially since it does not overwrite files and there are multiple disks worth of instruments and modules.
