the subject say ist all. Whats the Steroids mode in MiSTer?

The Steroids Mode overclocks the hardware, don't know how far on MiSTer. On MiST the core runs with 16 MHz and overclocks all components. Don't know if it clocks higher on MiSTer, I doubt. It gives you maximum performance but at the expense of compability.

GEMBench shows 200% CPU performance (1040STF = 100%)

So speedwise it is than like a Mega STE?

It is a littlle bit faster than a Mega STE. The Mega STE was aproximately 80% faster than an ST.
