I rather like the close up "arty farty" shots of machines but i couldn't find a good one for all the machines i wanted.
So i grabbed images at high res and cropped and cleaned em to get that "arty farty" look and complete my set.

Thats good news. Got my first Ninty G&W (Octopus) back in 83 (so long ago, i "think" it was 83). So i've got a lot of love for the whole range of these things, including Mattel, Russian clones, Bandai, Coleco et al. Used to run Handheld Remakes website too, long gone, shame....

I have a guilty pleasure of playing Fortnite as to me, it's very much like Unreal Tournament 2004 that I used to love.

Was thinking the other day, what if I could incorporate those characers from some skins I have into a retro wallpaper. Was thinking Tron type grid and they are materilizing into the game so to speak.

Anyway the result is above, here are a few more and working through characters that I have whenever I get a while.

Won't mailbomb this thread with loads beyond this post unless there is an interest, but let me know if you want me to add them in batches every once in a while.

I'm not what I'd call good at photography, but I kind of liked this fuzzy attempt at a macro shot of my MiSTer, and had it as my wallpaper for a good long while. On the off-chance anyone else is into it, here you go!

the system always stretched the image intead of leaving it the proper 9:16 ratio.

Wallpaper's really taste-dependent, everyone's varies. Wallpaper suitability also varies by the resolution a person runs their MiSTer at, and can take significant storage space if nice clean PNGs are used.

That said, the MiSTer's built-in wallpaper choices are spartan to the extreme. Maybe a small (relatively neutral in content?) wallpaper starter pack+ could be nice to have available.

The revamped MiSTer Downloader script lets you easily add additional archives to sync to; projects like MiSTer BGM and Super Attract Mode make use of this to allow effortless in-place updates. Someone could create a nice wallpaper project on Github and allow users to automatically pull any updates in a similar fashion.

I actually made a collection of wallpapers in three resolutions (1080p, iPad, some other res) some time ago that I've been meaning to share here but haven't gotten around to packaging it yet. (Also the HDD it was on just died Saturday but that's another story, lol.)
