1440p on a LG 32GK850G-B?

Unread post by tonyt76 »

Having trouble getting 1440p to work on my LG 32GK850G-B monitor.

I've tried several video_modes but none of them work. I always get an 'Out Of Range' message on the screen.

Thank you for your help!

Some DE-10 nano boards simply do not work over 1080p since you ARE overclocking the pixel clock then.

Sure it can be the screen/tv that does not like what comes out of the mister at 1440p/1200p but in most cases it is probably bad luck in the silicone lottery.

My DE-10 nano can do 1440p, as it works on my Samsung UJ59 4K monitor, but I want to get it working on my LG 32GK850G-B.

Can you post your mister.ini? I have two 32GK850G-B monitors myself.

I also use 1440p and it works awesome. I feel like it's the best resolution because it fills in everything so neatly like 720p. I will say that 1440p doesn't work with new displays in my experience. The latest display that works for me is a Dell P2715Q monitor from 2015 and my god it looks amazing. It gives my PVM a really good run for it's money but CRTs always win in my book

Hi, I have the same monitor and I get the same message. Did you find any solution? Thanks!

I did not. I do not think that this monitor supports the 1440p signal from the Mister.

At least LG TVs I've checked don't support 1920x1440 mode - but they DO support both 2560x1440 and 1920x1200.

Latter looks very nice though. You don't need integer scaling anymore, adaptive scanlines and other video filters are very good at hiding non-integer scaling problems.

If you use 1920x1200, you'll need to setup a custom aspect ratio of 24:20 to get a 4:3 picture.
