Donate PCB

Newbie here,

I just got a MiSTer FPGA system and must admit that this is really awesome to play, totally different what I ever played on Mame or the Rapsberry Pi this is the real thing and you noticed this right away.

I do got a large collection of original arcade pcb`s which I collected many years ago, I never play them anymore and since I got the Mister there is no need to keep them in storage, I think I got some pretty rare and amazing titles in there ;)

I`d like to help the community so my question is who can I contact for this donation? and will the game still be playable or is this donation are real donation, so the pcb can not be used anymore ?

Thank you.

Regards

Gyruss

I would recommend maybe reaching out to some of the established Arcade core developers to see if they have need of any particular PCB's for future Arcade core development projects, I have listed some well know MiSTer developers twitter accounts below.

https://twitter.com/topapate

https://twitter.com/nullobject

Very cool of you! The above poster hit the nail on the head, the specific developers could use them and also each has their own focus areas.

What I would recommend is posting a list of what PCBs you have and I think that would help developers contact you if they have a specific interest along a platform (for example Topapate has recently focused on Capcom systems, CPS0, CPS1, CPS2 etc, while Nullobject has focused on CAVE systems).

Wow, GREAT collection!

I'd take a look at your two below because they have an issue with the SMD caps leaking pretty badly.

Namco classic collection 1
Namco classic Collection 2

Your Namco System 1 games are great, Splatterhouse, Galaga 88, Pacmani etc and would be great candidates to get into MiSTer if a dev wants to check them out. I've been hunting a few of those games for ever (so if you decided to sell, HMU!). There is a multi kit for them, so I think understanding how they work has been looked into as well, so that may help any devs.

Ninja Spirit is awesome, and depending on which PCB it is, it would be a great addition for MiSTer as well. If it is the Irem M72 system, there tons of amazing games on that system, so a really great candidate. There is also a multi for that, so it may be useful for devs.

Your Tetris. Which version? Sega, Atari, other? I'd really like to see the Atari Tetris added to MiSTer!

Thanks again for sharing, great collection and very nice of you to share. I've offered some of my more rare PCBs (for lending!) to devs as well and I know it can help them troubleshoot, but it seems like they need schematics more than anything, which seems to help in development.

Thanks for your compliments.
I want to sell them all but first I want to help the community for doing such a great job on the Mister :) I`m missing many beloved Arcade games but I do know we have to wait in patience before they will reach us sooner or later...

I`m pretty sure I have the Atari version from Tetris.

Maybe Jotega can contact me since he is also living in Europe as far as I know right ? so shipping will go faster :)

Great idea, Gyruss.

I also just got into MiSTer, and it's quickly become my favorite way to play classic games. I would love to contribute to the community of developers supporting the platform, but I lack anything resembling the skill-set to do so myself. But I would be more than happy to contribute PCBs or even to purchase PCBs for legitimate developers committed to using them for MiSTer development. If it has not already been done, I wonder if there might be interest in creating a repository of legitimate developers with a "shopping" list to help their work developing or improving cores? I would help anyone committed to working on an Irem M92 core!

hey there!
its awesome to see an owner of these PCBs get a MiSTer to compare to FPGA cores.
i agree, the consistency in the hardware emulation of FPGA, lack of additional upscalers, reduced input lag, dual output, and the sheer amount of systems were very appreciated when i first started getting into the MiSTer.

its quite amazing what this piece of electronics can bring to the table, and the "bang for your buck" is undeniable/unmatched.
im sure some of those could be put to use for FPGA-ing.

golden axe (SYSTEM 16B - https://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=701)
parodias da (TMNT2 - http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=569)
raiden (SEIBU SPI - https://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=813)
and the r-types
(IREM M72 - https://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=738)
(IREM M82 - https://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=743)
(IREM M92 - https://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=747)

considering how important r-type is to the SHMUP community, i would very much like to see that game get the FPGA treatment

Hi Gyruss,

Thank you so much for this generous offer. Maybe it would be better to discuss it privately, the list of games in which I have an interest in that list is really long. For some of them, I have already made a core and I would just like the PCB to verify assumptions. Like for Trojan, I only had a bootleg PCB. Or for Commando, I only had the schematics so I never made 1:1 comparisons with the board.

For other titles, I want to either make a core or improve on the work made by other developers.

I will send you a PM.

Thanks again,
Jotego

Dear Jotego,
Thank you very much for your reply.

I also found a (probably) original non working Mortal Kombat II pcb in my stock maybe this is interesting also for you?

I have an MK2 board already. I have sent you a message using this board's messaging system but it seems stuck in the outbox. Did you get it?

Pretty cool that some of those PCBs might end up in Jotego’s hands! I would be stoked for a Parodius Da core and all the other games that are using that same hardware.

Great collection! So many sweet memories just be reading some of the titles. Especially Raiden and Galaga 88 stand out, I've played them a ton (and was addicted) in my arcades back in the day. Would LOVE to play them again on MiSTer.

Wow, that's a great collection. I have a friend who has said he will set up a MiSTer if New Zealand Story ever appears, I would also love to see that one come to MiSTer.

I'd like to donate my Namco NB-2(mach breakers, I have two).

I have no skill for decapping, reconstruction through HDL code, But I thought I can help the community by donation the pcb instead. The pcb status is playable.

Anyone to be intersted this PCB?

I would love to see R-Type Leo done. There are lots of other great games on that platform as well (Irem M92).
