People still use FileZilla? I stopped using this when it became a spyware delivery service.

Off Topic, FileZilla/Spyware refers to the Windows download only, but imho there not so much difference if using a spyware program on a spyware OS ;)

I did notice some things with the new core.
The merman area at the beginning of SotN turns yellow for some reason.
The Sonic World area in Sonic Jam is rendering white on the ground.

I've noticed the white ground in Sonic Jam in previous versions. I suspect it's because the ground is being handled by a different chip that isn't fully integrated yet. A reason why the Saturn was so hard to develop for was because getting the most out of it required balancing rendering tasks across multiple chips, and the most graphically intensive games required every chip to work together in perfect synchronization. There will be lots of weird graphical bugs and glitches until Sergey has everything running smoothly together.

Personally I'm hoping he devotes some time to the two sound chips. Lots of games run reasonably well at the moment except for the lack of sound.

I didn't know about this, I thought it was open source. Any good alternatives for mac and linux?

It IS open source and built by the package maintainer of your OS (at least for Linux based OS'es), but almost no one is building it from source in Windows. For that OS you're presented by a pre-build package which has (or had) something "phone home" tools in it.

For someone who has never played a Saturn games (and this one in particular): what is a "merman area" and where is it located? :)

I think he's talking about the area starting at about 7 mins 30 secs into this video:

And I'd also just like to state my appreciation for all of the work you've put into this. You're making a lot of people really happy all over the world! Thanks again, and most importantly, stay safe. Cheers

I often think of the lower half of my body as my "merman area".

I'm having the same issue.
I have "MiSTer_unstable_20230413_21c1d8" renamed as "MiSTer" in my /media/fat root directory.
When I run the latest 2 Saturn builds (20230410 and 20230415), after I run a cue file, it boots to the CD-Player screen after "Checking disc format". Does it with every image I have.

The 22.12.01 build runs without any issues.

I'm seeing the exact same issue with latest unstable and latest core. It's been awhile since I've tried Saturn but I had it working earlier.

I had similar issues when Region and Bios combination were wrong.
After changing these to the game it worked.

Tried everything. Latest Saturn core single Sdram, latest unstable nightly Mister, 10 Saturn Bioses/ regions combinations. "Checking disc format" and that’s it.

Yup. Updated my MiSTer with the new MiSTer Main via Update All and now the new version of the Saturn core is working just fine. Some real nice progress has been made here; Daytona USA doesn't crash every 5 seconds anymore and seems pretty stable now (albeit with some pretty noticable graphical glitches still); while Panzer Dragoon 1 & 2 now seem to be fully playable from start to finish (though not free of graphical glitches). Great stuff!

I didnt, which is why I answered here. Maybe the wind blew from the wrong direction last time or solar flares did interfere :)
