In one of the latest Linux updates, Sorg mentioned to run "updateboot" if you updated directly on the MiSTer. viewtopic.php?p=20721#p20721

I did update directly on the MiSTer via the 'update' script. How do I now run the updateboot command on the MiSTer to make sure it has updated fully?

First time i did see anything about updateboot too.
And have followed the mister closely since pretty much exactly this time last year.

So googled mister updateboot and found this
Scroll down to the bottom for.
It’s done in 2 stages: 1) Copy everything from files folder of release to /media/fat using FTP client and then reboot MiSTer (use Left Shift + Left CTRL + Left Alt + Right Alt combination). 2) Log in via serial console or ssh and type updateboot then reboot again.

Usually bootloader has none or little change and not always requires update. But for better experience it’s advised to update the bootloader with every release. If somehow new version of Linux won’t be able to boot with previous bootloader, then simply use SD Install Tool to update the bootloader (Update Boot button).
And it worked fine.
I guess you can open the terminal directly on the mister with a keyboard attached and run updateboot too.

If you use the standard update script, I was told that this shouldn’t be necessary. Those instructions were intended for people not using the updater.

Pretty sure Update_All script pulls the standard updater.
