[script] Best way to install latest Jotego arcade cores

Unread post by luishg »

I see that the Jotego scripts download and config some of hist Arcade cores, but for example "Double Dragon" is not included on them.

It's because they are not final and we should wait?. Is there any updated script for new cores?. What would be the standard way to install them, manually copy each file?.

Yes, you can just manually copy the RFB and MRA files. You don't need a script to do that. Just put the files in the same places you would for any other arcade core.

The best way to install these is to have Jotego add them to the mister-devel repo and then the updater will take care of it.

Don't use this script. It will mess up your arcade structure and it's poorly maintained. Then you'll be left to clean up the mess on your own.

This script is constantly in development. The newer versions will not mess with your structure if you are able to read the documentation and configure it accordingly! BUT this script is not pulling everything from the repositories of the developers (which probably isn't even possible). Some stuff is collected together manually so it can happen that there is a new mra or core and the script will still download the old version.

All in all the script is very good for beginners or people who don't know what unofficial Arcade cores are out there.
If you know what you are doing and you know where you get the correct roms etc. It's up to you to use Jotegos script or do it manually.
If you are a Patreon supporter for Jotego and want to install his beta cores you have to go the manual way for these cores anyway.
We raise hopes here...until they're old enough to fend for themselves.

The best way is to add one line to the mister-devel script.

If you are a patreon of Sorgelig you can ask for this.
