MT-32 Pi No sound

I have set up the MT-32 Pi.

I am getting a response and the MISTER OSD menu options. MIDI appears to be sent to the mt32 pi as the bars respond to music cues.

But I get no audio back into the mister. Am I missing something?

I've performed a few tests with some suggestions from discord.
Testing audio output from PWM and the pi output works fine.
The issue appears to be the i2s not communicating back to the mister.

Any help would be appreciated

This is the cable I'm using. Said to be recommended and tested.

I figured it out. I put the wrong resistor in the R1 surface mount spot.

I have the same issue - no sound from mt32-pi.
Everything works fine (oled display, OSD on ao486 screen) but I get no music from mt32-pi.
I've checked twice (I think) every connections, cables (USB), power supplies, etc.

What are you talking about "I've performed a few tests with some suggestions from discord."?
Help.

have you edited the config files to use with the mister?

If you have not seen it already, the MiSTer specific setup page is over on the mt32-pi Wiki.

The FAQ page is here:

Of course, my mt32-pi.cfg is configured as provided on manual:

https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi/wik ... connection

My MiSTer IO Board v.6.1 had issue, which i repaired - wrong soldering on RN12. After that I checked connections between J4 (User port) and P7 on IO Board. I do not rule out some mistake of course.

Testing on PWM output is fine. But then of course there is no Mister mixing music and effects :(

When i configure output_device = i2s I have no sound from mt32-pi. In example: in the DOOM game i have sound effects, but no music.

Therefore, I am asking for advice - how to debug i2s mt32-pi <> MiSTer communication?

Maybe my DE10-Nano is broken???

I would seek out dale (dopefish) on misterfpga discord, he's really helpful, great guy, usually hangs out in the Midi section of the forum.

I assembled the mt32-pi myself.
One question :)
As you typed before: "I figured it out. I put the wrong resistor in the R1 surface mount spot."
R1 is 100 Ohm resistor, right?

I found issue in mt32-pi board which I assembled by myself. I found solder bridge under the usb connector :(
And now mt32-pi hat for my MiSTer works perfectly :D

I have a quick question about the mt32-pi and the i2s and dont want to open a new thread for this.

I just successfully installed the PCM5102 DAC module on my mt32-pi hat. Everythink seems to work und it sounds great but is there a way to get MIDI and SB Sound (voices etc) from the new 3,5mm jack on the pi hat? I only get MIDI (makes sens because it is produced there).

Nope, the better option is a dac on the mister side if you want that, or break out clean digital sound from the hdmi port on the mister side, or optical toslink out, then it would be pre-mixed.
