Unable to start a game

I used the script in this thread

I put two CHD's (SotN and Final Fantasy Tactics) and one CUE+BIN (Symphony of the Night) in /media/fat/Games/PSX in their own folders. The US versions. When I try to load it brings me to the Main Menu and not the screen. Tried PSX_unstable_20220221_157452.rbf and the previous build PSX_unstable_20220221_14e02c.rbf.

What am I doing wrong? Do I have to put the MiSTer upside down?

Yes, the scripts download that.

I think I kind of solved it. It seems the latest few nightly builds don't start for me. I downloaded a bunch and at least one seems to work. Figuring out what the latest one is that works.

EDIT: Haven't found one that works with sound. Any favourite builds I could use?

You probably need to update to the latest unstable MISter nightly. I believe the script you can get from https://vampier.net/PSX/ will take care of that for you.

I've had the same issue for a week or so now when trying the latest nightlies. PSX_unstable_20220217_1465ed is the last one that works for me. Every release since then takes me to the main menu and won't load a game.

Edit: FIXED. After updating everything (not just PSX stuff) again (last ran 3 or 4 days ago), game loading with PSX_unstable_20220224_17d582 is working. ^^

It was because you were on the latest stable MiSTer that didn't had the multitrack support. This was only in the unstable MiSTer until yesterday were it was updated.

Yes, the update to MiSTer Main yesterday added support for CHD, multitrack, CDDA and cheats There has also been some nice updates to the PSX core that fixes a few more games. Should be very few games with issues at this point. I think the update yesterday fixed a problem with Symphony of the Night and its map.
