Illegal Instruction Error

Unread post by SegaMan »

Had that before.
Ran for months without any problems but with the last update the error message came back :-/

I don't know if it's just the last core update because now I get the message even if I'm using an older core that used to run without problems before.

See if it helps: I remembered seeing the bad contact problem in the forum but did not really read it.

Sometimes I get this, but only if I have played on some other core before moving to the NeoGeo core. For me a reboot fixes it.

Ok it's not just the NeoGeo Core.
The CPS2 core also crashes constantly.
Maybe an SDram Problem or possibly a problem after the last Linux update.
Where can I get the Linux file to put it on the SD card again?

edit:

Problem solved.
Cold Solder Point on SDram module.

My solution for the next person to have this issue... I am using a Mister Multisystem.

Neo Geo was giving this error for every game. Reading above with others with this issue were having trouble with CPS2... same here after checking. I would swear both cores were working fine at one point.

Turns out it was my new NES Raphnet adapter plugged in the back of the multisystem. Unplugged it and everything works again. Funny enough, plugging the adapter back in to a front USB port and it works. Odd
