MT32-PI Working but not showing in OSD

Hi

I've got a strange situation where my self built MT32-Pi is working as in
1) MT32-PI receives MIDI signal
2) OLED display works fine, updates properly when playing
3) Sound is properly mixed with MiSTer over I2S
4) Physical Controls work fine

Both MT32 and Sound Canvas play fine using X68000 and AO486 cores

However, the MT32 sub menu never shows up on the OSD. Weird thing is it definitely used to, so not sure it something has happened with the MiSTer Main or Linux updates but it seem strange and I'm not sure how long ago it stopped appearing. I've tried a variety of power options to no avail, currently using a Meanwell 4A supply.

The Raspberry Pi 3A is connected to DE10 directly to the GPIO ports and I'm using the rotary + 2 button control scheme. Again, controls work fine, in fact everything works fine except doesn't show up in OSD.

How does the MiSTer recognise that a MT32-Pi is attached, it must be something to do with that connection I guess? I've made all the connections as per the interface pinout here https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi/wik ... ace-pinout and kept the dupont cables as short as possible (and again I would expect other issues to appear if the power or cables were a problem).

Answer to the question above or any other pointers gratefully received. I did google but nothing quite covered this particular strange case,

try looking in your mt32-pi.cfg and at the LCD section there is different types lcd options hd44780_4bit, hd44780_i2c, sh1106_i2c, ssd1306_i2c.
there is also Set address (hexadecimal) of I2C LCD.

Thanks, that is set properly to my ssd1306 at address 3c. The OLED display is working perfectly. It is just the OSD submenu that won't appear.

that is also set correctly. here is my config file, where it says <hidden> I've just overtyped the values on the forum posting to avoid showing any sensitive info. Having dug into the X68000 core I can see that the MT32 Pi module expects to receive either 0x45 or 0x3c as the initial value from the I2C. So even though the OLED seems to be receiving the 0x3C command as it works fine the DE10 is not receiving it reliably over the I2C. Might have to play with some different cables for the I2C CLK and SDA to see if I can get a more reliable connection.

try config.txt and uncoment line avoid_warnings=2 at your own risk.
also update to mt32-pi v0.11.3 - 2022-04-13.

sorry Dave i thought that you meant the LCD on mt32-pi i checked the mister osd menu in sharp x68000 and amiga and it dosent show up.

ok thanks, sounds like a bug got introduced somewhere. I can stop taking it apart now (must have done it 20 times) and wait for the fix.
