Inspiration for game nominations

Pretty great UK ad for the ST

The randomizer has spoken. It’s time for the Game Club to tackle the Atari ST. As someone who grew up with the Amiga 500 I’m trying my best not to say something uneducated about this fine computer. I’m hoping that there are avid Atari ST users with a lot of great game selections. As with all computer cores there might be some of us having problems getting games running. So let’s help each other out.

A brief explanation of the Game Club rules:
  • You are allowed to nominate up to three games per round.
  • If a game is already nominated - pick a different game and make sure to second the game you would have picked.
  • You are allowed to second how many nominations as you like.
  • If a game gets nominated and seconded it goes in the mix of games that might get picked by the randomizer for this round.
  • If a game gets seconded more than once it has a higher chance of being picked by the randomizer.
  • When a game gets picked it will be announced in a new thread in which we play and talk about that game.
Nominated games (The asterisks represent the number of votes after the nomination):

Stunt Car Racer
Obsession *
Super Cars 2 *
Rainbow Island
Droid 2
Oids
Dungeon Master
Major Motion
Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker

Thank you, charmless, for making the club's posts this time!

I have yet to do anything with either this or the Amiga platforms thanks the MiSTer supporting so many of my favorite gaming systems. That seems almost wrong since those two make up most of the MiSTer name.

I never had any experience with an original Atari computer that I can remember. IBM PCs were my earliest exposure to home computing. I know the ST has a loyal following though, so now maybe I will understand the fandom a little better.

I have no idea what to nominate yet. I will happily do some research.

I nominate:

Chaos Engine (https://youtu.be/dWrGA-g17qg)
Stunt Car Racer (https://youtu.be/W05EIWujCw8)
Vroom (https://youtu.be/Z-RELFjDu_8)

So many great games to choose from. And games I have played alot on the Amiga. But it's really exciting to see how they play on the Atari.

I nominate:

- Obsession (awesome pinball made here in Sweden) for the STe
- Super Cars 2 (top down racing greatness)
- Rainbow Island (hey, it's Rainbow Island)

I had an ST running Cubase for a few years. Never played games on it. The one I did was a platformer so I'll nominate that one.

Droid 2

I'll second Obsession and Super Cars 2

 I guess it could hook up to a Pi32, there might even be a midi interface out there that could control a load of soft synths on a modern PC.

Actually it was the first one I played. Droid. What's not to like about powering up an ED-209 robot around a platform maze?

I second these!

Obsession (STe)
Super Cars 2
Rainbow Island
Droid 2

Rainbow Island reminds me of Ninja Kid (one of our random arcade games) for some reason.

Oids - ST exclusive and surprisingly deep iteration on asteriods + lunar laner

Dungeon Master - plays as well here as anywhere else and is just my favorite experience on the platform

Major Motion - a spy hunter clone that somehow surpasses the original. The amiga port is completely borked, this is the only place to play this great game!

I see Stunt Car Racer needs a seconding.

The game that the Amiga didn't have (at first) that beat them all.

I present:

Dungeon Master

2.
Jimmy Whites Whirlwind snooker by Archer Mclean
3.
speedball

Dungeon Master have already been nominated. But feel free to second it and nominate a different game. :)

And I second Jimmy Whites snooker.

Great pitches for these games. I'll second all three.
