MiSTer Not Detecting My ROMs

Unread post by shertz »

I store my neo geo roms on a external hdd. The neo geo roms folder shows it empty. I have all my roms in .neo file extension. The MiSTer dosent even see the sub folders i have in the directory. I have all my PSX, Amiga, Mega CD and other rom sets on my external HDD and they work fine with their respective cores. Please help.

The new NeoGeoCD core is a disaster by using the same game directory and the same config file as the NeoGeo core.
I suppose you tried the NeoGeo CD core.
Delete /media/fat/config/NEOGEO.CFG.
Things should be back to normal.
Thanks for pointing to the problem. I checked and I had the same problem.
I suspect re-trying the NeoGeo CD core will make the problem reappear.

Confirmed: if you use NeoGeo CD you break the config file and must delete it if you want to use NeoGeo.Using the same config file for NeoGeo and NeoGeo CD at this point in time is stupid.
I understand, looking at the menu, that at some point in time this core will replace the NeoGeo core.
For the time being please use a NEOGEOCD.CFG file!!!!!!!

if you use a MGL file for the NeoGeo CD Core it will save the settings with that name and create a new rom folder and should not overwrite the AES settings.

I think its a little harsh to call the new core a disaster

Its an experimental core that you are being granted the privellege to use before its complete. In the future no doubt it will be intergated with the current core and then all the config settings will work.

When you are beta testing you have to put up with a certain degree of pain. One of those is that it would be best not to save settings when using the neo geo core.
