Oh, and the usual reminder: the team does not build or distribute the software, we just maintain a script that can build an image, given a set of games and demos. We cannot take responsibility for what people feed to the script, nor for any HDF images produced.

This came up over on Reddit, since one of the images people had downloaded contained a couple of 1990-era viruses in some of the games and demos (not in the toolchain used to build it). So if you worry about this, run the included VirusZ scanner on any image you get off the internet. It’s included in the Amiga → Tools folder.

(Reddit thread removed because it is not worth engaging with well-known trolls from this forum over there too)

The Reddit trolls are very amusing at times though ....

Where can i get the 500hd and 600HD config files?

Unpack MegaAGS-Extras.7z, it has the additional bonus setups described in post #2 in this thread.

Thanks for the awesome release!

Is it possible to assign the delete key to controller button without losing the cd32 support?

The Amiga/WHDL native side solution does not allow for that, but it should be possible with the MiSTer side “Remap keyboard” feature. I haven’t used that feature in years though, and iirc you couldn’t save remap assignments back then. Maybe that have changed now, which would make the feature actually useful.

Thanks. I tried the remap keyboard option on the mister, but it seems it's just for remapping one key to another key

I just wanted to say thank you. For someone like me that grew up with the A500 it's just awesome. The extra configs (A500, A500+) is a great bonus that makes everything so much easier. Mind blowing stuff. So, thank you for all the hard work.

50hz/PAL can do weird stuff depending on your configuration, but I thought the menu was still 60hz?

The launcher is 60hz for maximum compatibility, yes. Nothing related to resolutions or refresh rate has changed in years.

Because you can’t take the MiSTer everywhere with you.

Thanks!

Coming from an older version and did the the reinstall as on the Amiga bison website mentioned. Now I’ve two Amiga Entries in my core menu. One entry is without a date. Any idea?

Me too.
i think its due to using the "better names" from update_all and its renaming your minimig entry to "Amiga", hence two after alls done.

Yes, if you use names.txt to rename Minimig to Amiga, you will have two entries. The one without a date is the MGL we use.

It's FS-UAE pointed at the AmigaVision disk images. FS-UAE is configured as an A1200 with 8 meg of ram. You can assign the DEL key and ESC key to buttons on the steamdeck controller.

Thinking about using this on a real Amiga. Is it compatible with Kickstart 3.2?

It should be, but testing has mainly been been done on 3.1.

Nothing has been (deliberately) changed to improve WB3.2 compatibility. Do you have any details on the issues?

Speaking about compatibility: Does the AGS side work with ECS Amigas (e.g. an A600 with Kick 3.1).
Because older versions did not like non AGA machines ...

No, it’s not made for non-AGA Amigas. It would be possible to make the script create configurations only for OCS/ECS, but it hasn’t been something we have prioritized so far.

Hi, it has been a while but I think it was related to the image not booting (possibly booting to a GURU, I don't remember exactly). Nonetheless I could always test the latest image again :)

Thanks for the info, i feared that moment :-)
Nevertheless it would be very nice to have an ECS version for all those pimped A600/500 out there :-).

Thought I'd quickly load in the A500HD file into WinUAE for a nosey, I haven't tried it on the mister yet, but for some reason it just hangs on the startup-sequence loading screen.. doesn't make it to the workbench.. I used the included *.rom file.. am i doing something wrong? or is it strictly for the MiSTer?, the A600HD file loads in fine.

Yeah, I haven’t tested this particular setup on a real Amiga nor an emulator. It’s probably trying to mount the MiSTer shared drive and failing — since AmigaOS 1.3 has very limited ways of doing something conditionally, I just put it inside a run >NIL: statement, hoping for the best — but looks like it locks up anyway. Edit s:user-startup and comment out the line that mounts the shared drive, then I’m pretty sure it should work.
