Minimig DB9 "UserIO Joystick" not found

Unread post by HerrBerzerk »

Hi,

I'm using the DB9 Version of Minimig, but I can't figure out how to make a joystick work on the db9 port with the amiga core.

On Github is written:

"A new option has been added in the OSD menu of this core called "UserIO Joystick" that allows playing with joysticks of Mega Drive/Genesis (DB9) or Neo-Geo/Supergun (DB15)."

I can't find that option. Manually downloaded the the Minimig version from https://github.com/MiSTer-DB9/Minimig-A ... r/releases to make sure...

Other cores work with the db9 port...

Thanks, I tried that also but no change. Only result I found was, that the db9 fork of menu.rbf breaks the midi support for ScummVM. At least I know now why midi was not working anymore.

There are a couple of bugs listed on GitHub for the DB9 Fork but noone really cares or noone feels responsible. Amiga is not working correctly, Atari only working with one player, menu is killing midi for scum... and I did not test many more... I think about leaving the fork.

The SNAC ENCC cores are updated in line with main and is also available via update All where is will replace the main cores and only grab from main what has no ENCC support

Theypilson who provides update all is one of maintainers of the fork, you could try and get help on his Discord ? Or maybe Antonio Villena?

What AIO are you using with the fork an Antonio Villena or Ironclad ITX ? As the DB9 cores only work on these, it is not support by the standard IO boards, Multisystem etc

I'm using the Antonio Villena Hardware and the DB9 via update all. And some cores are working fine, like C64 and some console cores. I contacted Antonio but he said he does not know and I'm filing bug reports on github. I try on Discord in the coming days. Thanks.

I have also the Antonio Villena Hardware. Direction works fine.
The Problem is that the Firebutton reacts to Firebutton 2.
But most Amiga Games are One Button only and reacts only to Firebutton 1. So you can´t play most of the Amiga Games :-(

I wrote this Issue a couple of Month on Github.
https://github.com/MiSTer-DB9/Issues/issues/23

You can test it via a Joystick Tester Programm on the Minimig DB9 Core.

I have chatted with with Antonio about this issue and he says the problem is in the main core. So i doubt it will ever be fixed

Shouldn't ppl with snac (instead of DB9) controllers have the same problem then? And can't the maintainer of the minimig core fix it then?

Snac is Mainline. DB9 is an alternative design and not official

There is no SNAC controller support on the Minimig Main, it was removed in favour of MT32-Pi support if I remember right
