Curious about additional save slots implementation

Just a potential "upgrade" to the save state feature that I am curious about.

I was wondering why there are only 4 selectable save state slots in every emulator with this feature. How difficult might it be to add additional slots?

I know that most of the Krikzz EverDrive line comes with 99 save slots, which is an absolutely fantastic feature for speedrunning practice.

It would be amazing to see the capacity increase, as this would allow many speedrunners to have parity with the EverDrive line and give added incentive to migrate over to the MiSTer platform.

I also understand and empathise with how busy MiSTer devs are and how this might not be a very enticing use of their time. I was just curious if this can be done. :mrgreen:
