The NewZealand Story Sound Issues

Unread post by Giddygoon »

I love the fact that we now have The NewZealand Story on Mister but I have noticed that music and sound effects are very low pitch.
a good example is when you collect the bouncing fireballs it does not sound right.

I'm sure it will get corrected at some point.

Same with Sinistar. Sound is way too high pitched. I can't imagine what is going on, but possibly the clock rate is set too high. And the case of New Zealand story it might be too low.

Would be nice to have a running list of arcade cores with incorrect audio. But then again hey I'm not a dev. I'll take what I can get!

Filed as https://github.com/jotego/jtcores/issues/211

… and if you have issues with those cores, I’d encourage you to file them in that issue tracker, as they might get lost otherwise. Of course, do a search if it’s been reported already, but no harm in reporting something twice.

this sounds like such a daft question, but is there anyway i can define the controller buttons to match the joystick movements on the amiga version of NZS.. i.e. pushing up is up and/or jump and pressing fire is fire (not jump) - if that makes sense..

The music is reversible but time is not. Turn back. Turn back

Not a daft question at all. You can redefine the buttons for any game to be comfortable for you... But just be aware that will change the joystick layout / setup for the entire core. So every game will have those controls. If you don't save your changes though and you reload the core things should revert back if that makes sense.

The best input mapping video i found. With special part for Amiga mapping.
