Is It Normal That I Need to Re-Pair My Bluetooth Controller Every Time?

Unread post by shaurz »

Relatively new to MiSTer, just got my setup going a few weeks ago.

At the moment I only have one problem. Every time I power it up, my Bluetooth controllers don't work until I pair them again. The pairing screen clearly shows it remembers it has been paired before.

I am using an 8bitdo Pro 2 but also have the same problem with 8bitdo SN30. The Bluetooth module is the one sold by https://misterfpga.co.uk.

No I don't believe that is normal. I use a PS4 controller, and it just starts working when I turn it on. I do have to wait a few seconds for the BT icon to appear on the MiSTer menu, of course.

Believe I ran into that and iirc solution for me was to pair that 8BitDo controller to an 8BitDo USB adapter brick (black, orange etc) instead of pairing it to a MisterAddons or similar USB BT dongle. No guarantees :).
