When trying to set up the PC 486SX core I get the fatal disk error message but I cannot the MiSTer menu to appear so I can mount the virtual drive. How do you get around this?

Thanks.

Press the OSD button on the actual MiSTer unit.
That will bring up the Menu. Not sure I ever tried Win+F12

This core is different from many others because F12 is an actual key on an AT keyboard so the OSD function was put under Win+F12 instead. It should work to give you the OSD and allow you to mount disks.

Tip: unmount a disk using backspace.

Anyone know why there’s two AO486 folders off media/fat?

1 is /media/fat/AO486
2 is /media/fat/games/AO486

I noticed if I use a share with cifs, when mounted it places the contents of the share into #1, even though the share folder is drive:\games\AO486.

I ended up adding a second games folder on the share (drive:\games\games\AO486) to get the cifs mount to replace the folder in #2.

I discovered I needed to have the bios files located in the #1 folder but could mount vhds from #2

I can only get the top 300 updater to function if it’s setup using #2 as the updater adds a games\ao486 no matter what’s prior to it.

This is a bit confusing because since there are two folders I don’t know which one the update all scripts are using to replace files. I guess I could just delete both locations and run update to see which one it places files in.
