Commodore 128 Proper Reset

Unread post by Juri »

C128 core lacks the proper real c128 reset feature.

On real c128 if you press "run/stop" key and turn on the computer, or hardware reset it, the c128 start in "monitor mode"
In same way, if you do the same but keeping pressed the commodore key, it start directly in c64 mode.

That's something very odd because afaik this feature is programmed in c128 kernel. But probably, on power on (or during reset) the core do not pass the key press during the boot

These keys work if you press them just at the right time. Unfortunately, the MiSTer resets the keyboard status when a core starts, so the timing has to be just right.

When using reset option in the core's menu, keyboard is also reset, unless you turn off the "Release keys on reset" option in the Hardware settings.
