Ms. Pac-Man Oddities

Unread post by Akuma »

I have some oddities playing Ms. Pac-Man and I can't remember if the cabinet I played on had those too. Its just been too long ago.

  • Colors are sometimes off where the first level is blue/red instead of pink, this corrects itself after completing the first field.
  • Ghosts sometimes run through me without hit detection. Nice bug, but I still think its cheating.

Anyone experience this?

Both of these are normal behavior (i.e., they happen on original hardware). The blue/red maze is some sort of memory bug and the pass-through is when both Ms. Pac and the ghosts arive at a location at the exact same time.

Yeah the first maze color glitch happens if you quickly start a game before the attract mode plays very far. Passing through ghosts is a well known bug/feature from Pac-Man.
