Rolling Thunder - Can’t get the disk version to load

I know that the ST version of Rolling Thunder is a bit crap (it’s a Tiertex conversion after all ) but I’d like to play it again for a bit of research. Anyway, it’s not on my hard drive image and the disk version bombs out. Has anyone else managed to get this to load? Cheers.

Works fine for me. At least i could load and play Level 1 a bit. I used this TOSEC disk image (st format)

Rolling Thunder (1986)(U.S. Gold)

TOS=1.02, 1MB RAM.

Strange. Still no joy for me. What chipset have you got it set to?

I also can get Rolling Thunder (1986)(U.S. Gold) from TOSEC to work with the following:
TOS 1.02 and 1.04 (both US versions, not sure if there are non-us versions but that's what I got)
1MB all the way up to 14MB
And both ST and STE chipsets.

I haven't tried loading the game with a hard drive image attached though....I don't have one at the moment to try it out.

Have you tried using a disk image from elsewhere?

Yeah, I’ve tried various sources. Even tried a compilation version that had Warlocks Quest with it (that version got as far as the loading screen).

If you are still having issues, you may want to test your SDRAM to make sure it's good.
The core uses SDRAM, how much I am not sure without digging through the code, but it's a good idea to rule bad sdram out.

I’m really not sure why I can’t get it to load. I ran Memtest last night for a few hours, no errors on my SDRAM. I’ve tried downloading multiple images of the game. Tried all the settings that you guys have recommended. I might have to download a new set of TOS images.
