Can't overwrite a save slot (Odyssey).

Unread post by MechaGG »

Hi There

I've set up minimig on my MiSTer and I've been enjoying a platformer called Odyssey.

I have already fell foul of the issue where I Saved my game, but forgot to hit "Del" and it basically created a save at the beginning of the game instead of showing 1 level complete.

However this has presented another issue. Save slot "0" in Odyssey now shows as "FULL". But if I try and Save in this slot again nothing happens. When I save in another slot ("1"), the screen goes black, it shows as FULL but then I can never save over that again. With only 10 slots in total this will present a problem quickly!

Is it a problem with that game in particular? Is there anything I can do to make it overwrite the existing ones? Can I delete those via the Amiga OS? My saves use the MegaAGS-Saves.hdf but I'm not sure where to access those.

Thanks

The easiest way to remove the previous save file is to:

  • Exit to Workbench
  • Start DirectoryOpus
  • Navigate to Saves:WHDSaves
  • Delete the Odyssey directory

Thanks- that worked great! It's been over 25 years since I've seen the Amiga OS! :)
