Re: tty2rpi Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a HDMI or DSI display)
This is great! I've been wanting a pi based solution. Any chance it can be configured to use a pizero as a USB device or through the gpio on any pi? I'm trying to get my mister running without any networking.

Re: Advice for HDMI Users
That's why you get two adapters. So you can jump from one to the other. Pulling one line would functionally be like cutting a trace on a single adapter.jlancaster86 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 2:49 am With or without the headers, those are just probe points, not jumpers (one per pin). That would be nice, though.

Re: Advice for HDMI Users
The good news is these breakout boards have all pins connected by default, so to lift specific pins, all you have to do is scratch across the traces on the PCB for the pins you want to lift. So no soldering required, and would thus be an easy DIY project for anyone without much in the way of electronics skills. Would be pretty easy to manually pro...

Re: 32X
Im sorry if I sound like a broken record, but that’s one of the unique selling propositions that the MiSTer can have over its already stellar value. If we could have a perfect recreation of less popular consoles like the 32X, Atari Jaguar (especially the CD, which has no emulator) and the 3DO, it’d make MiSTer even more appealing! You don't seem t...

this isn't new, IPS panels (and their benefits/issues) are pretty old now. The link you posted is from 2016.......

Re: Project idea
Depending on what files a user put in the device's games/consoles folders you could stick to just logos like TTYOLED, boxart, controller layout, videos, or anything else the Pi can run. And the resolution would be scalable!

Project idea
ItalianGrandma's awesome OBS overlay project and TTY2OLED has me wondering if anyone would like to work with me on creating a pi or arduino based add-on to drive an LCD or eInk display for cover art, button layout, etc? I originally wanted to do something like this in RetroPie for the 4 player arcade console I have in my classroom, but I would like...

Re: MiSTer Consolizer Case
I had come across the blurb below in this document from the USB.org site. Even though it's for motherboards, I'm sure the principle is the same. I just went with what the data sheet for the SL2.1a indicated, but it seems like a single capacitor might be suitable. Capacitor.png GOOD INFO! Thanks. I have 90% of the work done to make my own console ....

Re: MiSTer Consolizer Case
I dove in to the SL2.1A ... and I cannot figure out why the datasheet calls for a capacitor at each USB port linking the 5v and GND busses. Electrically it's the same as just having one. Are you aware of the purpose?

Re: MiSTer Consolizer Case
As far as your hub goes, it does seem a bit more complicated than mine. Of course it's all dependent on the controller chip. Mine is based off the SL2.1A. Mine is a TI TUSB2077A48. Mine is basically the reference design. I'm sure I can safely cut the number of caps down significantly. I'll take a look at the chip you have. It seems similar to the ...

Re: MiSTer Consolizer Case
That second box looks GREAT. I really like this.
I've been looking at the Ironclad Mini ITX board.
But now you have me wanting to dust off my hub board designs. You use far fewer capacitors than I was. Much cleaner looking design that what I've come up with.

I'm thinking that TV doesn't support RGB over SCART. Your B&W image is just one of the color channels.

I sure don't want "perfect" but I love how a well done mask makes things like Donkey Kong Country and Star Fox not look like a random pile of pixels

Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄
I just received mine, from the link in the first post. - It is leaking light at the base (maybe it could be because it is being pressurized by the housing). - It has a slightly "bald" part, as if the panel had been hit from behind. - It does NOT work with 5v through the micro-usb, only 12v through the transformer.... Bummer, I wanted to ...

Re: 1440p monitor: flat or curved?
I play on a curved monitor, just because that's the gaming monitor on my desk. I wouldn't tell someone to go purposely buy a curved screen, but I certainly wouldn't tell someone to not use one if that's what they have either.
Mine is an AOC Curved FreeSync screen and it's great. Seems to just handle whatever res and rate I throw at it from mister.

One thing to keep in mind. SNAC adapters are moving to the HDMI connector, so SNAC and BLISS can use the same cables.

Re: Upgrading my old I/O board for low lag input devices
Sorry this doesn't really address your question, but ... What do you mean by "use a USB device too"?
SNAC uses the user serial port, which is physically a USB 3.0 connector, but it is not a functional USB port.

Re: Intellivision Core (INTV)
On the topic of controllers. Here is my Arduino code for an INTV controller adapter that detects as a keyboard. https://github.com/drgruney/Intellivision_USB I've yet to try it on my MiSTer (I just got it two weeks ago) ... but the only changes that should be needed are remaps from letters to arrow keys for menu navigation. Key mapping is commented...
